About Me

Hello! š I'm Paul.
Iām an electrical engineering student at the University of HawaiŹ»i at MÄnoa and a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast. Recently, Iāve been learning how to use microcontrollers and sensors in embedded computing projects like developing lab instruments, calibration tools, and other equipment. Iāve also started exploring PCB design and manufacturing and am enjoying the hands-on process of creating and troubleshooting electronic systems. Alongside that, I like playing around with consumer gadgets, from smart home tech to exploring high-fidelity audio gear. This page is a little glimpse into the things Iām working on and what I find exciting. Whether youāre here to connect, collaborate, or just say hi, feel free to reach out!
Tinkering and Exploring
My projects range from experimenting with new tools and learning practical skills that can be applied in interesting ways to exploring ideas simply for the experience. Itās not always about the final result; I enjoy learning through good olā trial and error, troubleshooting, and occasionally being surprised when something works as planned. I love automating small tasks with tools like Appleās Shortcuts, shell scripting, and command line toolsāsometimes spending more time figuring it out than the task itself savesābut the journey is what makes it worthwhile.
Interests
When Iām not immersed in tech or drowning in classwork, Iām usually catching up on my backlog of webnovels, comics, movies, and shows. I especially enjoy whodunnit movies for the twists and suspense, as well as horror comedies for the mix of laughs and scares. Iāve also been trying to learn Japanese and Korean to read foreign webnovels and comics. Itās been a fun challenge and a great way to explore old and new stories in their original languages.
What I'm Listening To
Here's a playlist of songs I like and keep coming back to. Itās a collection of tracks Iām currently enjoying and ones that have stuck with me over time.
What I'm Watching
Trakt.tv is a platform that helps you track, discover, and share the movies and TV shows you watch. It's a great way to organize and keep track of everything I'm watching. Thanks to pizidavi for providing Trakt widgets to free users of Trakt.tv.
What I'm Reading
Iāll admit, I havenāt been reading as much as Iād like over the past couple of years, but Iām making more of an effort to get back into it. Iām using StoryGraph to track my reading progress, though itās still a work in progress (my reading habits and not the service) and needs to be updated. My goal this year is to finish at least 12 books, so hopefully, I can catch up and discover some great reads along the way. Unfortunately, there's currently no real-time widget but it is on the pipeline.
